Reflecting...

Something i read in the Daily Bread for quite time this morning... It was about forgiveness..

For if you forgive men when they sin against you your heavenly Father will also forgive you. but if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. (Mathew 6:14,15)
** Unforgivenes by my heavenly Father means an eternity in hell..**

Many a times when we are right and blamed wrongly, we get angry... We hate the person.. We want everything in Satan's power to flood his life.. Some of the things i hear or feel when ppl hate.. One of my friend, in expressing his hate told me.., "If i would to see him in hell, i would tip Lucifer to give him extra time"...haha.. Funny guy.. But it still does not cover up that when we hate ppl, we have bad thoughts about them.. I am pretty sure God doesn't like it..

Growing up as a hot tempered guy, life wasn't easy and nice going for me.. I had it though.. It was impossible to make close friends, have a decent talk with my family, and most of all, concentrating on other things.. Well, thank God i am a lot better now.. No doubt i still get angry.. But at least i know how to control my anger and know things i should be angry about.. By the way, anger comes hand in hand with hate.. If its not hate for the other party, its hate on yourself or hate on your "creator".. All these just takes up energy (a lot of it), spoils relationships, ruin your focus, and clouds you from every other happy things in life..
** For those of you in the dark, feel the light on the other side.. It taste a lot better.. Try it..!!**

To ration things out, the Daily Bread gave three pragmatic reasons why we should forgive..

First, forgiveness halts the cycle of blame and pain, breaking the chain of ungrace. Without it we remain bound to the people we can't forgive, held in their grip of vise..

Second, forgiveness loosens the stranglehold of guilt in the perpetrator. It allows the possibility of transformation in the guilty party, even if a just punishment is required..

Third, forgiveness creates a remarkable linkage, placing the forgiver on the same side as the party who did the wrong. We are not as different from the wrongdoer as we would like to think, for we too must ask our heavenly Father, "Forgive us our debts"

Well, time to look back at myself.. Forgiving ppl...?? Hmmm..not always i guess... Time to turn over a new leaf..!!! At least controlling my temper makes half the work easier.. :)
