Valentine's Day special!

Its been awhile, i noe.. Inspiration was scarce. But,! its back! haha.. Valentine's Day

After a while (as well), i flipped the newspaper:) lo and behold, my brain cells started dying after knowing at what our country is heading towards. Why my brain cells died? because there are people out there doing ridiculous things! utterly ridiculous..

I think everyone is already on it as much as I am. Lets do some factual check. Ustazah Siti Nor Bahyah Mahamood related immoral activities, discoing, and couples meeting in private to traditions of the Christian community. The Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) launched an anti-Valentine's Day campaign. "Beware of Valentine's Day Trap" was launched in Putrajaya. PAS Youth sent anti-vice squads to "hot spots"/"making out spots" and is distributing flyers in parks as part of their campaign to promote a sin-free-lifestyle.

Fwah! looks like not many are celebrating Valentine's Day then. To put my stand in this issue, yes, i agree with these authorities that couples are more inclined to practice immoral activities during Valentine's Day. And yes, everyone should be aware and chip in to solve this problem. But it seems to me, these group of authorities have to make a big issue out of nothing. And it also seems like there is more to this then just curbing immoral activities; attacking the Christian faith! now that is absurd.

It appears that these group of minority are very narrow minded on issues, have bad judgment calls and are very good at manipulating others;especially those who are of a herd mentality. Equating immoral activities to Christianity is just hitting a cheap shot! Certain religious quarters claim that Valentine's Day is a religious festival of the Christians, and therefor Muslims are not allowed to celebrate them. Dear friends, i have been in church since i was running in diapers. I was never asked to, never did and never ever saw a celebration in church on Valentine's Day! This is why people need to do their homework before putting up a public statement. Especially if u are going to utilize public coverage! Goodness. Have some sense of shame please. Don't talk crap, act like a smart ass and think "i am doing the right thing".

As i have said earlier, YES i am wit them in curbing "immoral activities". BUT, Valentine's Day should not be made an issue. Here is my rational. Firstly, "hot spots" have been identified even before Valentine's Day. This shows that "immoral activities" have been on the go for some time at these places! So why only make a move in Valentine's Day? unless it's a once-a-year discovered "hot spot" which i really doubt. For goodness sake, immoral activities are on everyday. Ask any local from any state, they will tell u where these hot spots are.

And this thing about Valentine's Day being a trap. Is Valentine's Day not originally a day to commemorate deaths of martyrs named Valentine? oh ya, i forgot. We dont emphasize world history in our syllabus:) Let me save u the read, Ya, it is. And today, Valentine's Day is just a day to show appreciation to loved ones. Where is the trap in that!?!?!?!? Common. Dont be so kampung, jakun. ulu, bongok (call what u want) The problem is not in the day my dears.. Some people are not being able to see the bigger picture. Valentine's Day is never about having premarital sex. Valentine's Day is never about going to discos. Sigh, i feel like i'm trying to teach a kid to read ABC.
WAKE UP!! class is over :)

No point talking and criticizing so much without a "suggested solution". Here, let me break it down. The problem is people having premarital sex. The situation is that the tendency of this activity happening increases on Valentine's Day. The possible outcome, putting the blame on Valentine's Day would create much controversies and havoc among different quarters. Solution, launch an anti-premarital sex campaign! And, put ur whatever "moral police","jakun officers" oh, i mean jakim.. and "rela members" and whoever u want to patrol hot spots more often.Send the whole army also can. Why not include interpool? wider network coverage. This will be just accepted as another measure taken by authorities in line with the anti-premarital sex campaign.Wouldnt the rakyat be more happy this way? win-win solution.

I better stop now.. getting overly sarcastic. By the way, whats a sin-free-lifestyle? is smoking a sin? how bout talking bad about people? using bad words? disobeying the law? well, i guess that flyer needs alot alot alot of editing and space. perhaps a streamer-flyer? then all the......

Enough boy! stop the sarcasm. Sorry. Adios, till next time..
