school life

If one is aware and sensitive to his surroundings, one will notice the change in trends.. and with a little time to think and put it in a clear picture, we can see the rot in our society now..

When i was in form3, smoking...the very first step into all these rubbish.. peers would be smoking every morning before coming to school..some even smoke in school but nothing is done about it.. it became such a habit that during tournaments, they had to smoke to be able to play..this actually started among a few malay boys and soon spread throughout the whole form.. even my group of friends started smoking.. Till now, peers around me are still hooked to this habit, and its spreading.. I sometimes see juniors coming up to my friends to ask for cigarettes..

In this same year, gangsterism also took its lime light.. It started with 3 boys in a gang, and it soon spread.. gang fights were breaking out in my school every now and then..protection money flying about..this soon caught fire, and some of my friends now are holding "high posts" in their gang..with this is also associated family problems, late night activities and absence in school because got "case"..

Form 4.. the year we have all been waiting for.. Motor license.. Well, many got their bikes before even getting a license.. by the middle of the month, half of the students in my form were coming by bikes.. some with license and some without..with this, truancy became popular.. and without question, REMPIT.. people started doing stunts on their bikes and many met with an accident.. lately, there was a guy from next class who ended up in icu.. "acciden motor" was what people told me..

Next was drinking... din't really caught on..only a small group of chinese and indians..

Form 5... we are all big boys now..suppose to be more "matured"..can think better and more responsible.. bullshit.. this year has been the worst.. early in this year, the problem was drugs.. u may be thinking.. in school?? ya.. i thought so too.. there were news that there was a guy in my form who dealed drugs in small amounts.. few grams for 35 bucks or something like that.. this din't really spread, but only a small group indulged in taking them.. and the physical synthoms are showing...

Since the new trend din't really get caught on, a new trend came by.. football betting.. now that we are "big boys", all the old habits will wanna go big too.. smoking, racing, gansterism.. big matters, require big bucks... new motor, requires money for modification.. everything revolves around money.. so.., betting.. make money and loose money..

Why are all these happening?? does the school authority not know anything or are they just looking at it blindly?? what is going to happen to the future generation?? even from small all these evil doing are being planted.. what is the use of Pendidikan Islam and Moral education?? Sivics?? It's taken alot of me to hold myself from getting involved in all these rubbish.. but the betting.....its easy money..

no matter what, i'm gonna hold to my principal in not getting involved in illegal money..i really hope i will have the determination to stand by my principal..

FYI, all these nonsense din't start in my school...its just a small group of people who spoils everything..whatever it is, something has to be done..

Changing trends??? My growing up years... smoking was in, illegal motorcycle racing was also in (but we did not have a glamourous name like Mat Rempit), everyone who layak wanted motorbike licese - that's also a big yup!, gangsterism - also there, drugs ada also (one of my classmates died due to drug related stuff), football betting (knew some of my classmates, the boys, were betting on the World Cup and European Cup)... Prorogue... nothing is new under the sun! That's from the Philosopher (King Solomon) - he said that eons ago. You can read all about it in Ecclesiastes! So, if you want to be wise, go take a look at it. Lots of snippets of wisdom there.

And you are right, if you are observant and sensitive, you can see much. But may I also add, if your ears are tuned to good stuff that comes your way, you've got a winning combination.. cos you, young man will be on your way to be truly a man. (I took that from If - Rudyard Kipling) 8)
