eye opener

just now.. was an eventful chemistry paper..

there i was.. trying to figure out a 16 mark question on hydrocarbon..and suddenly, a chinese guy sitting two tables away from me started shaking.. teachers dash towards him, and the whole hall was in mayhem.. everyone was standing up to see what is happening.. the boy got an epileptic shock..one teacher said, "panggil cikgu cina".. and a call was made.. after the shock was over, teacher asked me whether this has happened.. since he is not in my class, i said i dont know.. teacher also asked me whether his parents has been contacted, and i said i dono..i went to him and asked if he was ok.. he just gave me blerr look.. therefore, he is deffinately not ok.. i went to one of his chinese friends to ask for his house number, he gave me a stare and singnal that he was busy answering his exam.. i had to walk all the way to the front of the hall to other chinese friends to ask for this guy's number.. a few minutes later, a chinese teacher came, boy's dad came, he went home..

something struck me so deeply in this event.. one, no body bothered to help him..exept teachers of cos.. his friends.. the ones he always stick with.. the ones he laughes and spend time with.. no one came to help him.. all of them just looked, and continued doing their exam.. i know, its an exam.. but wouldnt it help if one of his friends came and give teacher his house number.. or perhaps let teacher know that he has history of epileptic shocks.. or perhaps he has medication in his bag.. nothing.. his "friends" did not even bother..

is this how it is now?? the kia su attitude is rooted so deeply till compasion is covered.. if someone was to be dying, i think they will still just sit and answer their exam.. going to tuition 45 minutes earlier, not wanting to share information, study 24 hours.. i understand.. but this? isnt it just too much? it is very very hard to find good friemds now.. sigh..

next eye opener was what teacher said.. Panggil cikgu cina.. even when we are in pain we are discrinated?? so much for one malaysia.. i think teachers think that epilepsi only effects chinese people.. i dont see a reason why they need to call a chinese teacher.. if he has some magic powers ok la.. this shows us its the mindset. its so set that we bind of rational.. chinese, let chinese ppl handle.. it never occured to the teachers that i can also do something..

our moral standards are going down the drain.. sympathy, caring, rationale.. all hilang ditelan zaman.. the worst part was, i was so upset till it disrupted my concentration to continue answering my hydrocarbon question..

Seems like your school's students are quite similar to the students in Keat Hwa... Both schools standard too high, the students too confident, a girl in my class from Keat Hwa cried (or so I heard) when my friend beat her in maths, until she went and get more marks from the teacher until she beat him by one mark. She lost about 5 marks... I never see this happen in Keat Hwa 2 before.
