Konkatsu
Another happening event in Japan! think Gonguro is funny? this latest trend, is one is mind blowing!
The name is KONKATSU a.k.a marriage hunting.. Japan statistics shows people Japanese are getting married at the average of 29.4, compared to 25, 30 years ago..
Just yesterday, there was a "ball" held for singles in Tokyo.. the event was konkatsu.. so, every "single" bodies are welcome to find Mr and Ms right.. the whole point of this ball is to "try to fall in love".. imagine that..falling in love in 3 hours? To spice up this latest trend, a lingerie maker even created a bra with a ticking clock that can be stopped by inserting an engagement ring.. imagine ladies walking in town..tick-tick-tick..haha
Well, this is not the first of its kind in the world.. "marriage hunting" has been on for long now..in early days it was called match making.. with development in technology, now we have Match.com.. we also have things like "brides of the shelve" in Singapore..
All these happenings are scary.. This all show that people now have no time to even get in a personal relationship the right way! things like getting to know each other well is not in play anymore.. heck, u can hook up with somebody on the other side of the globe! If people are getting married after knowing each other for just a couple of months, how are these marriages gonna stand?? explains the spike in divorce rate in the world..
Everybody is just pouring their life into their work.. Every minute is an opportunity to get money, to hike higher the hierarchy at work.. There is just no more time for personal relationship..the cycle goes on.. get desperate, get hooked up by "love at first sight", jump straight into marriage, get kids, quarrel, divorce, fight for rights..., and it goes on..
Don't know about you, but for me.. it seems scary going into adulthood.. its like a inferno in front, just waiting to burn me to crisp.. worst part is, i cant walk the other way..
