Headlines.... robbers are blasting ATM machines..!!! (wish i could do that too..) In the newspaper today, a CIMB bank in Shah Alam has been robbed RM30,000 out of an ATM machine that was exploded using a home made bomb.. A goldsmith shop has also been robbed goods worth RM30,000.. These incidents have alarmed state CID chiefs and other authorities..

Our country has been hit by many of these kind of incidents.. But using a home made bomb..?? This has gone over board... But as the saying goes, once bitten twice shy.. Banks and goldsmiths are going to tighten their security according to their capabilities in terms of expenditure.. Banks might start hiring soldiers in future..who knows..

When i read up on all these news, something struck me deeply.. If big "income" places for robbers are shut down to them, they will start preying on small shops.. or worse..,homes.. Speaking for my self, my house has been broken in 3 times.. once when we were all sleeping, once when we went for holidays, and once when only my maid was around.. The latest theft was what shook me.. I realized the danger imposed on us when thieves are desperate for money..

When we reported the break in, the police came and took pictures, and statements.. Then..,we dont here from them anymore.. Who knows if we are lucky, the robber might rob a bank or a "police care" place and get caught, then appear in newspapers as..,"suspected in other robberies".. My point here is this... Police aren't bothered in small cases like house robberies.. It may be a big thing for us because the amount taken might be a lot to us, and we feel the threat in the family..But to the police, its just another paper file to exist..

After the break in, my dad has erected a brick wall behind my house, replacing the fence.. And recently we have fixed up spiked bars and barb wires..Put my home beside a prison, no difference when you look at it.. the amount of pat locks in my house has also increased.. and precaution steps has been instilled in all of us.. Plants in my back garden has also been chopped so that we can see of anyone is peeping from across the wall.. The bigger picture is this.. This is all we can do.. or more like afford to do.. We cant hire guards with shotguns and let them sit by our gate 24/7.. We cant put bullet proof glass and prison spot lights..

All these are just going to make us an easy prey.. Imagine this.. without the interference of the police force, and light security that can be overcome by pliers, homes will become the next target.. In addition, the precaution measures taken by banks and goldsmiths will only make big time robbers go out of business.. therefor leading only one path left for them.. US..!!!!
