A Giving Heart

How much is a ringgit to you? I would hide and not answer the door if anyone comes to ask for donation. I have decided not to anymore. Why? Because i have experienced how it is like to ask for donation and be turned away. I went from house to house to get donations for St.John. Some people would just not come out eventhough they are inside. I came to this house, where the lady asked what we wanted, asked us to wait, and dint appear again. A few people donated generously. At this specific house, the owner came out and started questioning me on whether i have a permit by the police, and whether he needs to sign if he donates. Worst was his facial expression. It looked like i am someone who is going all out to corn money out of people. Would i go out in the hot afternoon sun wearing a uniform just to get a few bucks from people?? This has hurt me alot. To think that people are so worried of getting cheated till giving hearts are blacken by the soot of the world. Another house i went to was a doctor's house. The minute he saw me and my friend, he shut the door straight away. Come on people. Just give. A small amount can save lifes. Worried of being cheated? Let God do the punishments and don't judge who is trying to cheat and who is not.
